Entry and Dismissal Main Door 

Turning Point Academy students use the main entry door. The Waltham door will be the enter and exit door in the morning and afternoon. All other doors are not to be used to enter and exit the building.

Entry: Students are to remain on their transportation until 9:00 a.m., the ESE Para educator or Teacher  will escort students to their homeroom. 

Dismissal: Students are to remain in their respective classrooms until their bus routes and names have been called by way of walkie talkies. The ESE Paraeducator or the Teacher will escort students to their respective transportation.

Mondays through Fridays, the academic day begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:10 PM

Homeroom: 9:00 a.m.-- 9:20 a.m.

1st HR.        9:25 a.m. -- 10:00 a.m.   

2nd HR.      10:05 a.m. -- 10:55 a.m.

3rd HR.       11:00 a.m. -- 11:50 a.m.

4th HR.       11:55 a.m. -- 12:50 p.m. Lunch

5th HR.       12:55 p.m. -- 1:50 p.m. ***

6th HR.         1:55 p.m. --  2:50 p.m.

7th HR.          2:55 p.m. -- 3:50 p.m.

8th HR.          3:55 p.m. -- 4:10 p.m.

Slacks and Pants  

• Color: All slacks and pants must be a solid color: Khaki, navy blue, or black. Leggings and tights are not allowed.
•  Belts: If the garment has belt loops, a belt should always be worn.

Tops

• Shirts must be a polo-style shirt or buttoned down with a straight collar, and blouses must have buttoned down or straight collars. Turtlenecks may be worn under shirts or sweaters. All tops must be worn tucked inside pants, slacks, or skirts.
• Color: Any color or pattern polo can be any solid color.
• Style: Long and short sleeves with 3 buttons and a collar required.
• Logos: Manufacturer trademarks, if any, must be one inch or less. DPSCD SCHOOL LOGOS ARE PERMITTED!

 Skirts and Jumpers/Skorts

• Color: Khaki, navy blue, and black, in a solid, single color.
• Style: Skirts must be at least knee-length.

 Sweaters and Sweatshirts

• Color: Any solid color
• Style: Must be worn over a collared shirt, or polo-style top.
• Hooded sweatshirt: Hoods are not to be worn (on the head) during the school day.

 Footwear

• Style: Athletic shoes, laced shoes and/or other shoe boots, loafers, dress shoes, or other closed-toe/closed heel shoes.

NO CROCS or OPEN TOE SHOES PERMITTED

The PowerSchool parent portal provides parents with direct access to student data via the Internet. Using a confidential ID number and password provided by their child's school, parents can create their own PowerSchool account using a web browser or the PowerSchool app and view their child’s data, such as progress reports, attendance records, report cards, transcripts and more. During account creation, parents can create their own unique username and password. The credentials listed on the form from the school will link the student to their parent's account.

To log on to ParentPortal:

1. Open the webpage 

2. Enter Username and Password, click “Log In”

The first time you login to the PowerSchool app for your phone or tablet, you will be asked to enter the District's unique four digit code: PSNW

If you have not been issued a Username or Password, or are facing challenges with your password, please contact your school for the required login information.

Turning Point Academy welcomes the Parent Teacher Association Organization. The mission and goal of the Parent Teacher Association at Turning Point Academy is to increase parent involvement and make sure their voices are heard as we promote a positive learning environment for our students.

Monthly meetings are held on Fridays from 10:00 AM. to 11:00 AM. in room 103.

Our principal hosts weekly office hours to provide time for families to ask questions, share successes or discuss any concerns.  These sessions are the ideal time for parents to talk about the online learning experience, share suggestions and get clarity on school events. In addition to the virtual office hours listed below, parents can always call the school and contact Turning Point Academy staff by email or through the Microsoft Teams messaging system.

Turning Point Academy students are offered door-to-door services by way of National Trails Transportation. Parents and family members also transport their son/daughter to school. The student is permitted to walk home with the proper documentation. Turning Point Academy serves the Northeast Region of Wayne. County which includes Charter schools, Detroit, Hamtramck, Highland Park, Grosse Pointe, and Harper Woods.
